oh, hello

- - - - - - - - - -
sorry for the holiday blogging slack-off...although i have soooo much to post about! I guess I'll have to split them up for fear of losing my readership...lol.

(By the way, if you use bloglines like me, the way to update subscriptions now with the new Blogger is to re-subscribe to the blog with an additional "www." in front of the address. Otherwise Bloglines will just give you a red exclamation mark. This took me forever to figure out. Silly Blogger.)

First off, since Chris has finally received her scarf, I'm allowed to post these up:
branching out

Branching Out is done, and I couldn't resist the photoshoot op. This makes the first knitted project I've actually completed in the past 5 months, if you count my 1/2 pair of sock as a FO.

The turquoise-purple colour even blends in perfectly on our turquoise couch and trailing ivy:

More update to come soon. Merry belated christmas, and hope you're having a well rested holiday filled with peace and love!

rush rush rush to the end

yes yes yes i'm still knitting...in fact since the last time i posted I've finished a certain Branching Out scarf for a Certain recipient. However, as the said recipient checks the blog regularly I have resisted the urge to post a FO picture. So you'll just have to be satisfied with my halfway progress on the Market Bag from Melanie Falick's Weekend Knitting book, which is a gift for another recipent who do not happen to check this blog regularly (and also happens to be my sister).

The pattern is finally revealing itself (after I ripped the work 3 times due to failed colour coordination). Exciting, no? I have one more week till christmas. 'Tis time to expediate.

I'm so deeply saddened by the story of the Kim family, which I've been following with the blogging community over the past week.

Life is just
so. precious.

Thank you all so much for the encouragement I've been receiving about my work! Since becoming a blogger, I have been so inspired and touched by the creativity and energy and kindness of all other bloggers around me. I do so adore this community!

(And...is that really the incredibly amazing sally who dropped by here and left a comment? I feel like I've been touched by a celebrity!)

After conquering gocco, I felt adventurous enough to try stamping. I got some soft linoleum yesterday (I didn't even know that they existed until the lovely salesgirl at Curry's pointed them out to me) and spent a couple hours tonight carving and stamping, with happy enough results. Stamping will be my next new craze, I can feel it.

...and so, I will be putting these up soon in my new etsy shop (wheee!!!). who'd have thought that i'd be owning a "shop" one day! I love the internet :)

Gocco is all I dreamed of, and more. I officially *heart* my gocco baby. From this day on I do not wish to be parted from my gocco. Right now it's back to ebay to search for more bulbs and colours and supplies. How I wish those bulbs weren't one-time use only!!

The only other thing I wish I knew is what to do with all the extra cards I'll have left after I fill out my christmas list. Perhaps I'll make like those other crafty bloggers out there and start an etsy shop!
