smoggy Toronto
The lovely smoggy Toronto skyline, as seen from Centre Island yesterday.

Thanks to the wholly unexpected TTC strike, I get TWO days off in a row! And today I was supposed to start my new full time job too, lol...just great timing. My boss called to tell me to go and enjoy the sun. I've had quite a productive morning. So far it's not noon yet, and I've crossed several to-dos off my list:

1. mailed design competition entry kit off...check
2. cleaned my room so I can see the floor...check
3. cleaned my inbox...check
4. did a bit of knitting...check

5. scanned in some more pages from "Crochet Motif Applique"...check
page 13page 20
...more here.

If you're wondering where I get these books from (Hi Angela!), it's not from Toronto...I am quite disappointed that there really are no bookstores in Toronto that carry Jap craft books. (Trust me, I've looked.) I bought my first one in San Francisco when I was visiting my sister, at Japan Town. Since then I've been hooked, and now I order them from online at www.yesasia.com, or amazon.jp. If you haven't already, check out maitreya's amazing crafting japanese site. Everything is so organized and complete that it's probably the most comprehensive English Japanese crafting book source in the world. There are also links to places where you can buy the books, physically or digitally. Enjoy and prepare to be overwhelmed!

Nice picture of muggy Toronto. I was actually on Toronto Island on that day too (with Sophie). Maybe we crossed paths without knowing it :)
